Alright, that should just about do it. The remainder of the battle is posted, from the turn 4 duel and onward.

New tactics to me in 48 hours, questions sometime before that.

I would like to remind everyone . . .

Linage rolls can only be done once per PC and only those famous people who have been dead for over a year game time. Please make sure to read the rules thoroughly before sending in a request. I hate to auto-fail people, since they only get one shot.

I tend to forget something each battle. In this case, it was delaying a few people's initiative. So, until the movement issues are corrected, I felt I should just take down the battle. It will be reposted when the movement orders are corrected.

My bad.

Edit: The duel has been posted in. The remainder of the battle should conclude tomorrow.

I really should not have to remind people about this constantly, but apparently I do. Here is your latest Armory thread reminder. If I see anyone else after this point just posting "dropping off a Level 1 Weapon" with no indication about who it's supposed to go to, any items thus dealt with will be promptly eaten by the Armory Gnomes and never seen again. They may even eat your Armory thread.


Kingdom Armories:

We have never endorsed this concept, and warned many of you already that things were not being properly tracked. Yet, problems with the concept persist. An armory is not a shelf where you can file items or gold until someone needs it. If your kingdom has an armory thread, it is only a reference for transactions between players- there is no storage of any kind. You may not delegate the authority to transfer items to other people. You may not revoke custody of items simply because they once belonged to you. There should be no master list of what is in the armory- everything belongs to the people holding it.

The only kind of transfer that should be happening in such a thread is a player transferring something to another specific player. The transaction must be confirmed by both participants and OIs updated, as with a transaction noted in any other place. Any unowned items will vanish. If people cannot follow this simple rule, we will simply shut down any threads called armories and require you to make RP posts transferring things.

Examples:

Okay wrote:
Zan Zhikun gives a Draft Horse (Lead +1) to Yang Hu.

Yang Hu receives a Draft Horse (Lead +1) from Zan Zhikun.



Not Okay wrote:Donating a Draft Horse (Lead +1)

'Sup. The rest of the Wuguan battle has been edited in.

I'd also like to mention that I goofed up on Yu Xun's movement orders on turn 7 (he wanted to move north, not northeast), so that got changed as well, and he attacked instead of doing nothing. Nothing too incredible there. And that's about it, really.

I'm getting a bit closer to actually doing a battle that doesn't have any mistakes in it.

Anyways, it turns out that Yu Xun had Valor(e), and I forgot to take that into effect on turns 8 and 9 when he was Simultaneous Attacked. This has been edited in. The end result is Changan has 3 more morale, and Yu Xun has 10 more troops.

I might as well just make a new topic for my announcements. Three in a row!

Wuguan's tactics deadline is extended 24 hours. So you can use the extra day to fine-tune your tactics to really get the blood flowing. Okay?

Tactics are due Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 11:55 PM EST. Your timezone may vary, go figure it out yourself.

I'm still giving serious thoughts to making my own little thread here.

Anyways, as you were probably aware of (everybody else was...), cavalry can't get on walls. So I had to do a minor revision to the Wuguan battle. Which ended up turning into a fairly major revision. Because, while doing this, it dawned on me that the way I had each unit moved made no real sense. Sima Chung, for example, wanted to be in the most protective terrain he can be. I had him move into a light forest rather than on a mountain. Dumb things like that. I also ended up missing a few clauses in the global orders here and there which affected movement, so those had to be changed.

So I went through each action again, and the overall movement is much less dumb. As a result, Chen Wei's forces got hit a bit harder, but Minzhe's and the Miao's morale was hit more. Sima Chung also escaped death. The cause of the mistakes was a combination of factors, none of which I'll go into here. I'd just like to apologize (again) for having such a simple thing screw me up.

New tactics are due in 72 hours from now. And, as always, if you have any questions or issues, send them my way.

Q: How do you screw something up in a battle that pretty much only involves rallying and jeering?

A: By not having people run away when they begin to get jeered.

So, yeah. Minor edit to the Wuguan battle (+30 morale Changan invaders, +10 morale Miao invaders), wherein Ma Fei doesn't get in range to get jeered. The battle now also features the weakest critical success I've seen so far, so that's cool, right?
