Question: How much AP must be spent to learn a skill?

Study Skill
Sometimes, you may feel that you want to broaden your horizons and study something new. You may invest 1-50 AP per PT into studying a new skill, learning its use when you have invested the total amount of AP needed to learn it. The total AP required to learn a skill will be dependent primarily on the skill's strength, with a small amount of luck.
AP: 1-50
Limitations:
- Once you have begun studying a skill, you may not start learning a new skill without losing your progress on your current study.

Simplified...
Skill 1 (1sp)
Skill 2 (2sp)
Skill 3 (3sp)

How much must you spend to learn a 1sp skill, 2sp skill, etc.. ?
Or is that formula secret? Just curious to try and determine how much AP to spend and the timeline to be expected when undergoing a campaign to study a skill.

Does AP round up or round down? With Cai Bin there's 50 AP + (95+60=155 /10 = 15.5) Does 65.5 round up to 66 or round down to 65? I looked in the PT Rules and couldn't find anything concerning it. I'm sure it's something simple I'm likely missing though.

If I remember correctly, the harsh gods of SimRTK demanded you round down no matter what. For example, 65.9 would be considered 65.

Just like The Price Is Right...it doesn't count if you go over the amount. I could be wrong, though. It's been a while.

Variable, primarily depending on the tier skill you want to study. The exact amount will be given to you in the results for your first Study action. It should be comparable or more generous than previous games in terms of amount of skills you can learn over the course of the game if you're diligent about studying.

Hmm. It's probably normal rounding now, actually. V5 rules don't say to round down, and it'll be using an updated version of that tool. I'll have to poke around in my PT code to verify, it's been quite a while.

The formula of train stat: if I have a stat that is over 90, should I consider the result of the subtraction as being 1?

Train Stat
Formula: Exp Gain = (90 - stat) * AP * 0.04

If your stat is 90 or above, you get nothing.
If your stat is even close to 90, this action is not recommended, as the results are not worth the AP invested.

I wasn't quite clear on this, my understanding was when we put our Officer Information into Simzhou that automatically makes us an Officer of Wan regardless of circumstances (meaning no Extra AP boost). Is this correct?

That is correct. All players are part of the same kingdom in Simzhou, and nobody gets the 20 AP bonus for free officers.

Does the Breeder skill use the Int stat for crafting? I thought that was one of the changes in V6, but it still says Lead in Simzhou PT rules (plus the Alchemy skill is still there)

In the pre-game at least, Breeder still uses Leadership in both PTs and KTs.
Alchemist is unavailable to PCs in the pre-game, and will most likely disappear entirely in v6.

Fortunate (2sp)
Increased chance of good events occuring in PTs. Reduced chance of injury in battle. Slightly more gold gained from Patrol/Magistrate/Teach Letters.
(e)-- Increased success and gold from Patrol/Magistrate/Teach Letters.

Does the bolded line also apply to the Bazaar PT action? If not, could I make the suggestion that it should? It would balance nicely with the other 3 actions, which utilizes 3 other stats.

I was looking at the experience gained from crafting according to pre-game rules.

Experience Event0-6061-7576-8586-9595+
Personal Turns: Crafting, per 5 AP (9)50 Cha30 Cha20 Cha10 Cha5 Cha

At 50 stat, crafting gives 50 exp per 5 AP spent. 25 AP can be allocated to crafting per turn. So basically one would be getting

(50 x 5 = 250 exp) per turn for crafting at 50 stat,
(30 x 5 = 150 exp) per turn for crafting at 61-75 stat,
(20 x 5 = 100 exp) per turn for crafting at 76-85 stat,
(10 x 5 = 50 exp) per turn for crafting at 86 - 95 stat.

At this rate, a player can go from 50 in a stat to 85 in 25 PTs. One can go from 50 in a stat to 95 in 45 turns. Is this correct?

Let me know if my math is off.

Fun fact, going from 50-85 in 25 PTs would cost you about 875g if you used 25AP each turn!
