Alright, this is what I have so far, I wanted to put this up before I go any further. On a conservative taste I think it may be best to hold back and wait to benefit from these new buildings. Alternatively we can also sell more food and try to replenish what is lost. As it stands with the 135 Gold we can also recruit back to our starting values. This is of course before Training, Patrol, and the like.

Will it save gold to demote all the military ranks? We don't have enough troops to make use of the increased unit limit anyway.

It will, but Military is also necessary for patrolling, training, and recruiting. Since patrolling and training don't cost anything it may be to our benefit to use the Military Ranks to attend to those for some sort of defense.

I should also note that Sun Xiang and Li Sheng have a rank for the express purpose of I-Net as of now. We can likely fill out to 250 when we finalize everyone else's tasks.

I'll probably have more comments later, but I'm surprised you're not using someone with Civil Engineer (like my character) to construct a building. That is 75 gold extra that you're spending.

I presume the governor is based on RP considerations, since the best mechanical governor is Jia Liang.

I would also suggest that people who are active get prioritized too, since they will best take advantage of the xp.

I would like to be more involved in the KT side of running a kingdom and am willing to help however I can, but might just sit back and watch this time to see what comes out (as it looks like it's mostly organised anyway).

Just wanted to note an event from Gongsun Ji to ensure it was calculated in:

As for Wai Be being Governor, I'm pretty sure that was part of the outcome of the First Simzhou crisis. So yes, RP stuff.

I'd be happy to contribute to the KT despite my relative inexperience with your systems. I'll leave the economic side to the experts, but a prominent topic of discussion in the thread seemed to be how to deal with the superior enemy army. I'm thinking that obviously, letting them reach us or engaging them in a pitched battle might not be the best solution, so how about setting ambushes along the road and using fast mobile units to delay them and waste their supplies/combat power?

If we can have them reach the city in a weakened state and then engage them in a defensive battle, our odds should be significantly improved and economic damage lessened. Add to that ploys from high INT officers to make them waste even more time and maybe preempt their deployment, and we can gain more time to recruit and boost ourselves to face the threat.

Agreed on that, it's just difficult to say who that is at the moment. Yes nearly all of the ranks are RP prioritized with the Dao Lang agreement that his faction would be given ranks and his faction included Xu Xun, Yuan Zhong, and Liao Ju (though Liao Ju would have been given rank anyhow as a representative of the Capital). I'm in the middle of a move, but if anyone would like to compile the active officers I can switch the ranks around as need be.

I went over all of the PT results and noted the way some events have changed the city stats. I also factored-in the first crisis skirmishes. Not sure if Grand Administrator changes the Max Units to 1300 or not. That might just be city-dependent.

A band of 200 volunteer forces joins your ruler. Wan gains 2(0) troops.
A wealthy farmer donates food to your city. Food +1000
A disease claims 200 civilian lives before it is contained. (Pop -2)
You catch.... +100 Gold is returned to the kingdom.
You deeply offend some troops in your city, and some of them desert. -13(0) troops!
Dai Ren also paid for some mercenaries to improve the city security, but no stat change occurred, as far as I can tell. Must have just been an RP-related type of security increase.

From the way I understand the rules: no. Grand Administrator means the max separate units per force post rises to from 10 to 13 (units having a max size of 100 + rank/skill bonuses).

Though this whole thing is purely theory as we are highly unlikely to see our force grow to such numbers in the first place.

I think I'm still pretty injured, waiting on a reply in the relevant thread. So probably not the statistical best choice atm.

Whoops! I didn't see this post earlier. These are certainly viable strategies Chelomo. I believe we have quite a few months to go before we have to meet the enemy in the field, but ambushing them and hitting them with guerilla-style tactics will certainly factor into how we deal with them based on the skillsets of several of our officers. Also, welcome to the game. :)

General note:
Most of it as we we discussed on this thread, and it's great! My one problem is:
I kinda already said it before, but I don't like having only 129 troops. We still have 240 gold at the end. Why not use it to get more troops? No reason not to beef it up to 150.


EDIT: one more thing
Staffing base-level buildings (like Smithy) can be done by by Sub-officers who are much cheaper (paying 25 instead of 40 base). Not much useful for this KT (ranks were already assigned based on RP), but useful to keep in mind in the next KT as we will have 6 more building staff slots.

We can go to 150. I have no problem with that. I was initially concerned at having an empty treasury, but I believe we get taxes every KT, so it will be replenished.
