He duels Wen Yang (91 war) for 50 bouts and Jiang Wei (93) for 30 bouts. I'd say he certainly is their equal in martial prowess, or meant to be.

Jia Xu (147) 44-40-98-80-62 | Skills: Acumen (400), Ambush (350), Arson (100), Charming (330), Cunning (300), Networking (280), Reversal (170), Riot (250), Rumour (800), Tactician (900), Terrain (150), Wile (600), Zeal (200) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

- Convinces Li Jue & Co. to ally with the Shanxi to attack Wang Yun, which is successfu, then advises waiting out the Ma's attack and sending guys to support Li Meng and Wang Fang, then advises a quick execution of Fan Chou at a banquet. Got the court to repair itself by convincing Li Jue & Co. to exert theirselves in the welfare of the people. Is consistently persuading Li Jue, and desires to help the Emperor out when Li Jue & Guo Si begin to infight. Disperses barbarian tribes by playing to their ego, and convinces the Emperor to pacify Li Jue by giving him rank. Advises submission to Cao Cao but gets threatened and flees. Advises Zhang Xiu to submit, then advises a plan to get vengeance on Cao Cao, which mostly works. Sees through Cao Cao's plan and counters with an ambush, advises not pursuing Cao Cao, then advises to pursue him. Advises surrender again and becomes a Consellor of Cao Cao.
- Advises sending a scholar to Liu Biao, which ends up being Mi Heng. Guards a main camp and governs Liyang. Advises sowing tension between Ma Chao and Han Sui. Advises getting Xiahou Dun and Cao Ren to come and give advice. Recommends Yang Song to convince Zhang Lu to surrender. Advises Cao Pi to appear better and reminds Cao Cao of the succession issues of Yuan Shao and Liu Biao. Fears Pang De will die fighting Guan Yu. Recommends Su Yue for a new palace. Advises against killing Hua Tuo, inteprets a dream, and hears Cao Cao's last words. Gets named Grand Commandant, and advises the Emperor to abdicate to Cao Pi, and advises the thrice rejection from Cao Pi. Advises not attacking Shu or Wu. Advises against attacking Shu even though Sima Yi offers the 5 army proposal, then dies.
- SGZ: Talent isn't noticed immediately, gets compared to Zhang Liang, bluffs barbarians that's he's the grandson of Duan Jiong. Advises Li Jue & Co., and after refusing a few areas, is put in charge of recruitment, as he brings a lot of people back in. Pacifies Li Jue and prevents a lot of imperial ministers from dying, and defects to Duan Wei. Transfers to Zhang Xiu as neither him or Duan Wei trust each other. Surrenders to Cao Cao, is made an advisor to Cao Cao's Minister of Works. Convinces Cao Cao to attack Yuan Shao and be more aggressive, which is successful. Advises against an assault against Wu, which turns out to be right, but begets criticism from Pei Songzhi. Keeps to himself to try to avoid suspicion. Wiki has him as an advisor of Dong Zhuo on his campaign against the Qiang. Rafe has nothing new outside some family stuff, stats.

Lead: Only mention is as a defender of a camp in the novel, Lead's fine for the one mention.

War: Lived to 77, that's fine.

Int: One of the more debated stats among a few. I'm a Jia Xu for 100 guy. My reasons behind it:

1: The impact of his advice really transcended many other advisers. His advice to Li Jue and Zhang Xiu allowed relatively less powerful forces to at least be on the level of the real powerful forces. His advice at Guan Du changed the entire complexion of the Yuan Shao campaigns. His advice against Ma Chao pretty much bailed out Cao Cao and the Wei forces. Finally, his advice to Cao Pi in the succession issue avoided what undoubtedly would've been a bigger issue than it was which could've caused significant internal turmoil within Wei at a point when they may not have been able to handle it.

2: The man knew when he was beat, and knew when not to do anything. This to me is more valuable than being able to come up with brilliant plans. Zhuge, for example, even in the novel, felt he just had to fight Wei on the northern campaigns and constantly lost due to running out of supplies. Jia Xu, in that situation, wouldn't have launched many of the campaigns, knowing that the situations weren't proper. His advice to surrender to Zhang Xiu pretty much saved both of them, and his advice not to attack Wu on multiple times was the right move, Pei's comments aside. He was also smart enough (and politically apt enough) to never move beyond his role as a strategist and make himself truly unpopular or worthy of suspicion around the entire paranoid (justly in many cases) Cao family. For all of Zhuge's omniscience, that to me is much more impressive.

Pol: He was named Grand Commandant for being the principle backer of Cao Pi. Still, definitely politically apt, and some civil service, as well as his role not being too agressive in the succession issue. 80 works for what he did.

Cha: His advice was took, but he was a recluse in many cases. I'll boost him to the mid 60s, but his keeping to himself hurts him a little from what he should be.

Skills: Administration (work as a governor), Ambush (of Cao Cao), Charming (playing off the feelings of others on a few times), Cunning (e) (he's Jia Xu), Networking (e) (in charge of recruitment, helped out a lot of people to get office), Rally (of Zhang Xiu and Cao Cao), Reversal (of Cao Cao), Rumour (lying about being Duan Jiong's Grandson), Siegecraft (defending against the Qiangs), Tactician (e) (he's Jia Xu), Trap (of Cao Cao), Wile (e) (Ma Cha/Han Sui)

Personality: Served Dong and Li Jue, he did try to reform them, but I'm kinda against him for just getting himself out and not others with the barbarians. Neutral.

Lü Bu (156) 84*-113*-42-18-80 | Skills: Aid (250), Avatar (????), Crossbowman (150), Duelist (1000), Formation (270), Heavy Cavalry (400), Investigator (200), Jeer (270), Leader (350), Light Infantry (100), Riot (300), Spy (150), Valour (550), Weaponmaster (800) | Items: Crescent Halberd [melee] (War +8) | Ranks: Free Officers | Location: Not Found

- Imposing figure, bribed to kill Ding Yuan to ender Dong Zhuo's service. For the record I'm not bothering with his duels or kills just because he's getting Duelist (e) and 100 war. Suspects Cao Cao of trying to kill Dong Zhuo, makes a stockade outside Hu Lao, battles with armored horsemen and rips to shreds Wang Kuang's men, flees after taking out much of the alliance and being stopped by the brothers. Pushes's Cao Cao's pursuit force back, then falls in love with Diao Chan. Kills Li Su for getting raided, investigates Hu Chier's defection, and kills him for it. Beats Niu Fen and Li Jue's armies handily, then gets attacked constantly and eventually routed due to superior strategy. Takes Yanzhou while Cao Cao's attacking Tao Qian, repeatedly beating up Cao Ren. Refuses Chen Gong's advice a few times, then takes it when Cao Cao's about to raid his camp. Mostly routes Cao Cao's forces, then takes advice to trick Cao Cao into coming into Pu Yang where he's routed. Gets routed himself with Cao Cao claiming he was dead. Gets tricked out of Puyang, gets routed trying to burn out an ambush, then flees to Liu Bei. Raids Xuzhou with 500 Cavalrymen cause Zhang Fei's drunk and takes the city. Attacks Liu Bei with the promise of riches but doesn't get riches so he allies with him. By the way, for the claims Lu Bu was illiterate, from the novel:

"When Yuan Shu's general, Ji Ling, heard of his arrival, he wrote letters reproaching Lu Bu for his treachery. Lu Bu smiled as he read them. "

Anyways, shoots the halberd to promote peace, and agrees to marry his daughter to Yuan Shu, then gets tricked into not marrying her off. Routes Liu Bei when Zhang Fei steals his horses, beats back Yuan Shu's forces when he advances on him, then joins in the effort against Yuan Shu. Attacks Liu Bei at Xiao Pei handling the efforts of his army and routes him again. Takes Chen Deng's advice to move his family to Xia Pi, is tricked into attacking Chen Gong, is barely able to cut his way through Guan Yu's forces and arrives at Xia Pi. Refuses to battle because of his wife, tries to ally with Yuan Shu, is unable to make it through the forces with his daughter so he retreats into the city. Drinks too much wine, outlaws it, punishes Hou Cheng for brewing it, then is captured and dies while railing against his captures.
- SGZ: Master of records under Ding Yuan, an adept archer with unmatched arm strength. Dong Zhuo's bodyguard, but also suffered from Dong's outbursts and began to turn against him. Oversaw court affairs with Wang Yun, routed by Li Jue's men. Isn't liked by Yuan Shu or Yuan Shao in spite of his actions, routes Zhang Yan's forces and Yuan Shao tries to kill Lu Bu rather than let him go. Takes over Yanzhou while Chen Gong takes Pu Yang, and has the better of Cao Cao, but a drought causes both sides to pull back and Cao Cao's victorious and forces Lu Bu to flee to Liu Bei. Historically shoots the halberd, an dthe Chens plot against him. Rafe adds that he had a man play as him in his tent when Yuan Shao tried to kill him. Stats:

Lead: Numerious victories over Cao Cao, but lost by what Rafe described as Lu Bu not being able to coordinate his men, nor having his men under control and not plundering. Without those two faults, an 80s lead general, but 79 is fine taking those into consideration.

War: He's Lu Bu.

Int: Constantly befuddled by traps, some historical intelligence though. I'll put him low 50s for his own actions at Puyang plus seeing through Yuan Shao's plan to kill him.

Pol: Played like a fiddle, but does he really deserve such a low pol? A master of records under Ding Yuan, and the man is able to read. I'll go under 30 for his reputation, but he's not deserving of teens level pol, I think mid to high 20s.

Cha: Dropping it, novel and history much of his issues dealt with him not being liked for his arrogance and actions. Low 70s is more sutied for him, imposing nature aside.

Skills: Aid (Liu Bei), Ambush (of Cao Cao), Arson (buring out Cao Cao's forces), Blitz (cutting his way through Guan Yu's troops), Charge (charging many a time into enemies), Charming (to make up for the Cha drop and account for his popularity at times), Dash (pursuit of people), Duelist (e) (he's Lu Bu), Jeer (railing against Liu Bei for betraying him), Leader (many years of troops under his command), Missile (e) (Halberd shot), Raid (it's called the raid of Xuzhou in the novel), Rally (from his routes), Siegecraft (taking of cities and attacking of cities), Trample (e) (noted in the history and novel for his mounted Cavalry), Trap (of Cao Cao), Weaponmaster (noted use of bow and of armed combat, mainly gets this admittedly cause he's Lu Bu)

Personality: Overall he's a misguided person who seems to get humanized oddly enough in the novel. Evil... he was justified in almost all of his novel actions save Ding Yuan, and saved Liu Bei's family multiple times even after attacking him. I'll go Neutral in spite of his reputation as I see him more concerned with the present than concepts of good or evil.

Re: V5 Heroes (NPC statting)

Bored at work, getting back to finishing off the heroes. Guys I've done already:

Zhang Rang (131) 63-34-63-50-85 | Skills: Acumen (250), Ambush (150), Charming (700), Commercialist (100), Jeer (200), Networking (250), Reversal (150), Rumour (600), Spy (170) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

Skills: Architect (politically corrupt, sure, but helped rebuild Luo Yang after a fire), Charming (e) (called quite litterally the Emperor's father, very pesuasive), Civil Engineer (for his secret mansions), Cunning (in-general craftiness), Networking (connections), Rumour (e) (spreading rumours about He Jin and the empire), Spy (knowing of He Jin's plans), Trap (leading He Jin into a trap)

Stats: Lead, I don't really know what he did battlefield wise, so I'm dropping it to the 40s for his work with the Eunuchs. War, its fine. Int, not a battlefield adviser, much more political than anything, but still an intelligent man. I'd go low 70s or high 60s for this, thinking the former works better. Cha, it could be higher, but it's fine at 85.

Pol, the always difficult one, how to represent his corruption. He got stuff done, was very intelligent politically, but his corrpution would make it difficult to give him too high of a score. I think, all things, considered, 75 or 80 with an RP deduction if he doesn't care works best for him. High enough to display his talent, low enough to be in reason.

Personality: Evil, no question.

Revisded: Not necessary.

Zhang Rang (131) 43-34-71-75-85 | Skills: Architect, Charming (e), Civil Engineer, Cunning, Networking, Rumour (e), Spy, Trap | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

=============================================================================

Zhang Zhao (156) 58-36-81-95-71 | Skills: Acumen (500), Administration (500), Ambush (100), Articulate (600), Charming (250), Cunning (400), Invent (250), Investigator (150), Jeer (150), Leader (150), Rumour (250), Scribe (300), Study (250), Tactician (500), Wile (250), Zeal (500) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

Skills: Acumen (chief clerk of Sun Quan), Administration(role in the administration of the state), Architect (advice to Sun Quan to build schools and improve the Wu infrastructure), Articulate (calligraphy skill), Blitz (battle skill for the sake of having one, I felt this would be funny enough for a scholar), Invent (creation of the Tiger Chariot), Propaganda (many appeals to Sun Quan), Scribe (commentaries on books), Study (noted for it), Wile (novel plan to incite tension between Liu Bei and Liu Zhang), Zeal (e) (if he wanted to do something, he'd do it; if he didn't, like coming out of a house on fire, he wouldn't)

Stats: Lead, he lead some commands against bandits, this is fine. War, boost to the 40s for living to be 80. Int, this can probably go down. His focus was internal, not external affairs, and his plans outside the kingdom weren't really brilliant or anything. 70 would be fine there. Pol, head of Wu, real well respected by all except Quan, not enough on what he did or reforms he made to move him past 95. Cha, very blunt, Quan said his temperment would make him a poor Prime Minister (whether that was Quan's real opinion or an excuse to slight him is debateable, but I'll take it as fact), and he did upset Quan numerous times, even if it was all for the best. I'll keep it where I put it.

Personality: The fact he refused Tao Qian's service and thought for the best of the Wu people, and the fact he was noted for doing what was best for the Empire than the Emperor is enough for me to put him as good.

Revised: not necessary

Zhang Zhao (156) 58-42-70-95-71 | Skills: Acumen, Administration, Architect, Articulate, Blitz, Invent, Propaganda, Scribe, Study, Wile, Zeal (e) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

=============================================================================

Zhong Hui (225) 60-47-82-80-75 | Skills: Acumen (250), Administration (400), Ambush (150), Articulate (350), Cunning (100), Military Engineer (250), Riot (100), Rumour (250), Scribe (250), Siegecraft (150), Study (700) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found | Father: Zhong Yao (151)

Skills: Acumen (noted as a key member of the Sima regime), Articulate (noted calligrapher), Inspire (pumping up of Xu Yi, I'm giving him inspire over Rally cause he was at full morale when this happened, so to speak), Invent (creation of ships), Investigator (calming the populace while he invades Shu; between this or Charming and chose this), Military Engineer (creation of barracks in Shu), Navy (planned naval assault), Rumour (e) (spreading of a rumor at Wei which gets Deng Ai killed), Scribe (creation of maps for Shu), Scout (use of to see mystic horsemen), Siegecraft (besieging Sabre Pass), Study (e) (noted for always studying), Terrain (plans of Shu and knowledge of), Trap (planned trap for people to get caught in and routed by)

Stats: While not as much of a commander as Deng Ai or Jiang Wei, did lead his men into Shu. I'd go low to mid 70s for his achievements. War, fine for what he did. Int, I think he does enough to get 90, though not that much above it. Numerous plans for what to do in Shu, long-ranging plans for an assault on Wu, no real super tactical brilliance like Jiang Wei or Deng Ai, but long-ranged forsight. Pol, he was one of the Three Excellencies before he rebelled, and rose to that in spite of being associated with the Cao faction and Cao Schuang. Mid 80s pol as I'm not sure of notable reforms, but he at the very least knew how to play the game well. Cha, had his own abrupt style, but he was well liked by his men till he rebelled. Low 70s for getting by with what he did.

Personality: Evil, rebelled because he thought he was above the state rather than for any noble reasons.

Revised: Not necessary.

Zhong Hui (225) 74-47-90-85-72 | Skills: Acumen, Articulate, Inspire, Invent, Investigator, Military Engineer, Navy, Rumour (e), Scribe, Scout, Siegecraft, Study (e), Terrain, Trap | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found | Father: Zhong Yao (151)

Zhou Tai (163) 76-91-52-43-66 | Skills: Aid (800), Ambush (250), Arson (250), Duelist (250), Footsoldier (250), Heavy Infantry (250), Leader (250), Navy (250), Valour (1000) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

Skills: Aid (e) (numerous times helping Sun Quan), Arson (setting fire to Zhang Ying's area), Blitz (fitting battle skill), Duelist (dueling Cao Ren), Inspire (over Rally for his efforts to keep command and save Sun Quan) Navy (successful naval assault against Cao Cao), Valour (e) (getting wounded many a time to save Sun Quan)

Stats: He really is more of a bodyguard than a battlefield commander, although he does have a couple notations to his credit. Low 70s for Lead. War, fine for what it is. Int, fine, never really showed major intelligence or fault. Pol, same as Int. Cha, fine in spite of others not yielding to them (which I think was more that Wu people were stupid, as it happened with Cheng Pu to Zhou Yu, and later to Lu Xun).

Personality: Valorous, but neutral.

Revised: Not necessary

Zhou Tai (163) 72-91-52-43-66 | Skills: Aid (e), Arson, Blitz, Duelist, Inspire, Navy, Valour | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

Skills: Acumen (political work), Administration (noted for it), Aid (minor military command under Sun Ce), Architect (petitioned to develop Moling/Jian Ye), Articulare (noted for litterary skills), Networking (Gu Hong in the novel, close friend of the Sun's), Propaganda (writing of memorials and proclamations), Scribe (compilation of the careers of Sun Jian and Ce to stay in Quan's good graces), Study (time at Luoyang University)

Stats: Lead's fine for his minor military command. War's fine for not doing much. Int, small drop to low 70s for not doing too much strategically, Pol, I could see him in the 90s but he's fine where he is and I prefer mid 80s to 90s. Cha, not trusted by Sun Quan (for good reason), but well respected and well liked, so I think it's fine just under 80.

Personality: Loyal to the Sun's, going neutral for lack of goodness noted.

Revised: Not necessary.

Cao Pi (187) 55-45-65-80-84 | Skills: Acumen (260), Administration (370), Architect (220), Articulate (800), Charming (500), Cunning (270), Horse Archer (230), Investigator (300), Leader (200), Light Infantry (100), Navy (120), Networking (270), Rumour (320), Spy (300), Study (350), Zeal (240) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found | Father: Cao Cao (155)

- Skillful at poetry, fond of fencing and military arts, goes to kills Yuans but finds Zhen Ji and wants to marry her. Super-intends work at Ye with Cao Zhi, get advice from Jia Xu to weep and smuggles Wu Zhi in with silk for advice. He succeeds Cao Cao as ruler, shocks Yu Jin to death with a mural of Fan, kills Cao Zhi's friends, and only spares Cao Zhi because he's cunning. Sets up new laws, accepts Meng Da's surrender, becomes Emperor, accepts Sun Quan's submission, and leads 3 armies against Wu, which fail. Leads another army personally against Xu Sheng, Scouts Xu Sheng a little suspect of an ambush, is suspect of ramparts he sees, gets frightened, abandons his equipment to retreat fast, gets routed, kills Zhen Ji, and dies.
- His autobiography has him noted for his skill with weapons and with a bow. Of note from the ZZTJ notes on SOSZ, the Qingzhou troops rebelling on Cao Cao's death, but not much else I'm able to discern outside Xin Pi rebuking him. Rafe makes mention of his construction projects and literary compilations. Thoughts:

Lead: Successful within the government, horrible (at least by the novel) as a commander. I think, 55 works fine for him because he did well with government and holding the empire together.

War: Boosting it to the 50s for his own notation of his martial prowess.

Int: Did he screw up by not attacking Wu.... very possibly, but not definitely, and considering the relative instability in Wei at the time, I feel him staying in the capital was more important. Now, he made a few dumb mistakes later on, but was smart enough in certain areas (more political, but deal as much with strategy as politics) to keep him in the 60s, though I'd drop it further to lower 60s.

Pol: He's made mention as a competent administrator who wasn't truly exceptional. I'm going to raise this more to the mid 80s though because of his skill in extolling his own virtues, and his political actions when he came to power to consolidate his rule. I find that more impressive than the reforms he committed.

Cha: Fairly popular, although he killed a lot of people. It was due to his ability to charm people that he was such a relatively safe pick to ascend, I'll leave it as is.

Skills: Acumen (general political service role), Administration (much use of in Wei), Articulate (e) (poetry), Charming (winning over Cao Cao), Civil Engineer (his projects in Wei), Cunning (use of in the succession debate), Dash (flight from Xu Sheng), Fusillade (archery skill), Investigator (uncovering plots and secrets), Leader (while badly, was the leader of Wei), Navy (use of), Networking (circle of friends), Rumour (of Cao Zhi), Scout (of Wu), Study (noted for), Weaponmaster (notations of his martial ability)

Personality: Outside maybe Dong Zhuo, he had more pointless deaths than anyone attributed to him. Evil without question.

Revised: Not necessary

Cao Pi (187) 55-57-63-85-84 | Skills: Acumen, Administration, Articulate (e), Charming , Civil Engineer, Cunning, Dash, Fusillade, Investigator, Leader, Navy, Networking, Rumour, Scout, Study, Weaponmaster | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found | Father: Cao Cao (155)

Note: Next post will contained an updated list from me mainly for my own housekeeping.

- Told to tell Cao Schuang that Sima Yi won't take his powers. Helps drive Xiahou Ba out, sieges a road to block off Han Zhong, and diverts streams so the city troops will starve. Plans to cut off Jiang Wei's supplies to drive him back, duels Jiang Wei very briefly, and pursues him when he retreats, throwing arrows and stone down (on a side note: I'm shocked, someone actually manages to pick up Flood and Rockslide). Proposes pacifying the Qiangs, fakes a defection, and manages to kill the Qiangs that come with him via his trickery. Works with Deng Ai, doesn't see the 5 reasons JIang Wei would attack, and destroys the force under Bao Su. Ambushes Jiang Wei, and comes and talks about how Jia Chong should die.
- SGZ: Takes up military appointment on the borders, is an Inspector in Bing and pretty much runs everything there, comes back to the capital after being a nice guy to the tribes. Requests being away from the capital to avoid being caught up in the Cao/Sima power struggle. Attacks Jiang Wei's forts, analyzes the problems Jiang Wei has with the natives, and advises cutting off supply lines to get Jiang Wei to retreat. Gets a large victory over rebels, meets Jiang Wei's army at Nan An, and stalemates him there. Advises Wang Jing to only attack when attacked, but he doesn't and gets routed, and Chen Tai has to rush to his aid. Re-organizes the Wei troops, then outsmarts Deng Ai by pointing out that Shu wasn't focusing on Wei's food supplies, and that a strong defense would hold off the Shu forces, which with rallying, it did. Returns to the court, tasked with recruiting government officials, holds control of the court when Sima Zhao puts down Zhuge Jan, and is appointed to an Excellency rank. Dies because Sima Zhao won't kill Jia Chong.
- Minor note: I'm discounting the mutiny because, after reading the translation, I'm not entirely sure if it is proper. From the SGZ:

"In the 4th year of Jia Ping (AD 252), the Shu’s tacticians instigated a rebellion staged by the minorities in the western region. Seeing that, Chen Tai proposed to the court to dispatch troops from the provinces of Bing and Yong to suppress the rebellion. In the mobilization of the troops from Bing province, there were cases of mutinies due to the long matches. Leading the remaining troops, Chen Tai managed to score a big victory over the rebels."

There's a part of me that just finds it odd that the troops would mutiny and he'd still lead the troops to a major victory rather than something else happening. Something just doesn't sit well with me on the translation. Anyways, stats:

Lead: I don't account for the mutiny as mentioned above, and I do think he's much better than a 70 general. I think low to mid 80s is the best place for him; he wasn't an exceptional military commander and drew Jiang Wei a few times, but held command over a large number of troops, has many other successes, and was in charge for the most part in the early campaigns against Jiang Wei.

War: Brief duel with Jiang Wei, so insignificant that I really don't count it, 60 is fine.

Int: Seems neutered a little in the novel once Deng Ai shows up, probably to further point out the Deng Ai/Jiang Wei rivalry, but in any case, I think he deserves a boost. His analysis and planning saved Di on one of Jiang Wei's campaigns, when Deng Ai was ready to just give it up, and many of his victories came as a result of analyzing the situation and striking at weaknesses. 94 I think works fine here.

Pol: Could use a boost. He was an Excellency, ran the administration in the west, and was in charge of recruitment and ran the capital briefly while Sima Zhao campaigned. Not 90s, but high to mid 80s worthy he seems.

Cha: Persuasive, got foreign tribes to submit, doesn't strike me as 80s popular. I'd drop it to the low 70s.

Skills: Administration (running the west), Aid (coming to in battle), Ambush (use of against Jiang Wei), Dash (pursuit of Jiang Wei), Flood (diversion of rivers; I think now enough people have this skill that it passes the people who kill others after they're dead), Investigator (Inspector of Bing), Leader (the West), Networking (in charge of recruitment in the capital), Rally (against Jiang Wei at Di), Reversal (sees through many of Jiang Wei's plans), Rockslide (this still has fewer people with it than people who kill others after they're dead), Rumour (faking out the Qiangs), Siegecraft (meeting Jiang Wei on many occasions in siege combat), Terrain (analysis of), Trap (Qiangs), Volley (raining arrows upon Jiang Wei's men), Wall (on the defensive many a time), Wile (Qiang plan again)

Personality: Neutral, didn't care who lead but just wanted out of the capital to avoid it.

Chen Tai (203) 83-60-94-87-72 | Skills: Administration, Aid, Ambush, Dash, Flood, Investigator, Leader, Networking, Rally, Reversal, Rockslide, Rumour, Siegecraft, Terrain, Trap, Volley, Wall, Wile | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found | Father: Chen Qun (167)

Revised:
Political: Administration, Investigator, Networking
Military: Aid (2), Dash (3), Flood (4), Leader (7), Rally (8), Rockslide (9), Rumour (10), Siegecraft (12), Terrain (14), Trap (15), Wall (17), Wile (20)

Lu Kang (210) 77-45-79-74-75 | Skills: Administration (300), Architect (300), Ambush (250), Charming (250), Civil Engineer (400), Cunning (350), Leader (250), Light Infantry (200), Military Engineer (600), Rally (250), Reversal (150), Siegecraft (300), Terrain (300), | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found | Father: Lu Xun (183)

- Head of the army in Jing, is sent to attack Xiang Yang. Yang Hu talks of how he killed Bu Chan in Xiling before he could get there and wants to remain defensive. Becomes friends with Yang Hu, upsets Sun Hao by not doing anything, is dismissed and dies.
- From the off-site bio: Responds to Sun Quan's interrogations about his father easily enough, became Commander in Chief of Wu, defended in a siege against Yang Hu and rallied his men, made a defensive stance against Yang Zhao's naval assault and tricked him by ambushing and routing him, and took Xiling from Bu Chan later. He sieged Yong An, but couldn't take it, and got dismissed.
- On-site bio has him repairing his fort and buildings and such in preparation for a switch with Zhuge Ke. He memorializes the court a lot, including encouraging recruitment of officers who aren't famous. Builds many walls around Xiling to protect from the outside and attack from the inside, and was noted for making dams in Jiang Ling to prevent flooding, and destroyed a dam to flood a path and force Yang Hu to take a long way around transporting supplies. He predicts Yu Zan will attack where the tribal troops are, dismisses him, and meets the assault with arrows and rocks (yegads, another Rockslide user), and uses drums to scare Yang Zhao's men. Petitions again to get Xue Ying exonerated. Petitions to focus on civil matters and calming the populace over military affairs. Again petitions talking about the issues of too may troops, and tells Sun Hao to keep the western borders defended, and dies. Anyways, stats and skills:

Lead: I tend to see him as more an 80s Lead guy than 70s. Numerous successes, even if more due to intelligence, and maintained the entire western defense of Wu. He also managed to keep his men under control even when they wanted to attack in situations it wouldn't be prudent and did a better job than his father did, I will say that. Low to mid 80s.

War: Nothing exceptional, 45 is fine.

Int: I'd go high 80s here, off the 90s for a lack of merit. Reasoning being is that he had a tremendous amount of foresight and anticipation of what would happen, including predicting the downfall of what would happen to Wu.

Pol: Did what he could to keep the court under control and reform Wu, but nothing I saw that was outside really petitions and advice. 70s pol is fine.

Cha: Good friends with Yang Hu, not really that great with others. Thought on his feet and was able ot pacify his men, but nothing truly exceptional, 75's fine.

Skills: Administration (his command), Ambush (of Yang Zhao), Architect (repairing his area), Civil Engineer (see Architect, include the Dam in there), Counter (bows against Yu Zan), Cunning (quick-witted replies to Sun Quan), Farmer (petitions for civil reforms to farming), Flood (use of), Investigator (petition for Xue Ying, in general work to keep the people happy), Leader (career), Military Engineer (e) (construction of battle walls and ramparts), Navy (fighting on water against Yang Zhou), Networking (petition for a change to the Wu recruitment process), Propaganda (numerous, mostly unsuccessful, petitions), Rally (against Yang Hu), Reversal (upon Yu Fan's defecting), Riot (of Yang Zhao's troops), Rockslide (use of, now I feel bad about bashing it so much --), Siegecraft (career in sieging), Terrain (knowledge of)

Personality: On one hand, he tried to oppose the corruption in Wu. On the other hand, he's a baby killer. Split it down the middle, call him neutral.

Lu Kang (210) 83-45-87-74-75 | Skills: Administration, Ambush, Architect, Civil Engineer, Counter, Cunning, Farmer, Flood, Investigator, Leader, Military Engineer (e), Navy, Networking, Propaganda, Rally, Reversal, Riot, Rockslide, Siegecraft, Terrain | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found | Father: Lu Xun (183)

Revised: A lot of skills, just barely breaks 20 in Military so not touching it. *edit* Now doesn't break 20 with the folding of Flood and Rockslide.

Dong: Do you want me to go through the NPCs/GM NPCs I did and figure out who should get Flood turned into what (since I could've gave it for instances that would be better with Civil Engineer, Military Engineer, Terrain, and possibly Farmer if it was irrigation work).
Xiong Qibing (191) 94*-59-90*-82*-85* | Skills: Ambush, Arson, Dash, Jeer, Raid, Rally, Rumour (e), Stealth, Terrain, Trap, Wile, Zeal (e) | Items: Draft Horse [mount] (Lead +1), The Duke of Zhou's Art of War [treatise] (Pol +2, Int +1, +5% success to Wile ploys), Black Onyx Elephant Pendant [jewel] (Cha +1, Pol +1, Int +1), Jade Dragon Pendant [jewel] (Cha +2, Int +1), Trapper's Map (Lead +1, *Trap), Calligraphy (+2 Bond)

Hua Xin (157) 52-59-65-90-65 | Skills: Acumen (250), Administration (600), Farmer (100), Investigator (170), Jeer (150), Networking (200), Rumour (350), Study (300) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not found

- Surrenders to Sun Ce, sent as an envoy to Cao Cao, gets retained in the capital in a ministry post. Lays his hands on the Empress for her family's part in conspiring against Cao Cao, and gets called evil by Guan Ning for daring to get up to view an official passing by. Recommends Hua Tuo, and takes charge in confirming Cao Pi as the new leader of Wei. Named Prime Minister, recommends removing Cao Pi's brothers from power, leads the people requesting the emperor to abdicate, to the point of threatening him, and gets promoted further. Slanders Sima Yi when hearing of Zhuge's letter, recommends Cao Rui go help Cao Zhen to raise the army's morale, and that's it in the novel.
- Rafe since there's nothing on the SGZ or wiki: A scholar, persuaded Taoqiu Hong not to join Wang Fen's plot, and was appointed by He Jin to the Imperial Secretariat. He objected to a man joining their party when others wanted him, but refused to kick him out when others wanted to because of honour. He escaped Yuan Shu in 194 and was an administrator under Liu Yao. He refused to be a leader, and surrendered to Sun Ce, then went to Wei. He broke down a wall to get the Empress out, and brought Cao Pi the succession authorization. Stats:

Lead: Should be dropped further. No military command, and he was a real bad leader who did nothing while an administrator, and folded at the first sign of pressure. 40s or 30s is more for him.

War: Lived for a while, and he broke down a wall, could be dropped though to mid/low 50s.

Int: Really not that cunning in any respect, did provide a little good advice, so 60s is ok.

Pol: He was a long-ranking minister in Wei and held for a while an Excellencies rank. He did something, but I'm not sure what. For his tenure and career, I'll leave him at 90, but wouldn't object to him being in the 80s.

Cha: Not exceptionally popular, but seemingly liked within Wei. I'd boost him to the low 70s.

Skills: Acumen (service), Administration (was one), Civil Engineer (a stretch, but if he can knock down a wall, he can put walls and buildings up), Farmer (his previous life of tilling the soil), Jeer (insulting the Emperor), Networking (friends, recommendations), Propaganda (proclamations), Rumour (of Sima Yi), Study (noted for it)

Personality: I'd go neutral, but by definition he could be evil with how his deposition of the Emperor came off.

Revised: Not necessary

- Guards Chen Cang, threatens to shoot his friend, then uses Fire Arrows to knock down Zhuge's ladders, broke rams with rocks (which, most likely is Siegecraft, but could theoretically be rockslide.... *sighs*), and builds a counter-trench when Zhuge tries to fill his trench, tries to rally his men on his deathbed, but fails and dies. Wiki has him building fortifications in preparation of Zhuge's arrival, and walls inside his walls to trap the Shu troops. Stats:

Lead: A career general who has one of the most noteworthy victories in all of Chinese history. He showed great composure with inferior men, and whether he could've lasted an extended period of time or not, his actions demoralized the Shu troops. I'll go 85 and split it down the middle as if he did this with a relatively noted career previously he'd easily be 90.

War: Died of illness, dropping to the 40s.

Int: Countered novel-ZHuge, not enough for me to say he's 80s though, he's fine.

Pol: In charge of a minor area for a short time, 50 is fine.

Cha: Nothing noteworthy one way or another dropping to low to mid 60s.

Skills: Civil Engineer (construction of walls prior to Zhuge arriving), Inspire (his attempted saving on his death bed), Military Engineer (e) (the battle), Missile (e) (use of fire arrows to exceptional success), Reversal (e) (countering novel-Zhuge), Siegecraft (e) (He's Hao Zhao)

Personality: Neutral.

Revised: Not needed

Dong: Ideally I can finish off the rest of the guys I haven't done (as of the moment 5 left, 3 who have a relatively long career in Cheng Pu, Huang Gai, and Lu Su, then Dian Wei and Li Ru which won't take much time), and then I'll go change my heroes and bring up all the regular NPCs who had Flood.

Cheng Pu (154) 78-83-67-60-81 | Skills: Aid (300), Duelist (320), Investigator (250), Navy (150), Siegecraft (100), Valour (270), Weaponmaster (130) | Items: Snake-Headed Spear [melee] (War +2) | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

- Has a funky spear, kills Hu Zhen. Finds Sun Jian then goes to Yuan Shao's camp with him. Is Captain Exposition about the Jade Seal, and helps fight his way through Liu Biao's men. Helps him fight through troops, tries to capture Huang Zu, fights and beats Cai Mao, kills Lu Gong quickly in a duel. Captures Sun Ce's horse, duels Taishi Ci for 30 bouts, and scatters and chases Yan Baihu's forces. Attacks Wang Lang's flank, minces Sun Ce's assassins, encourages Zhou Yu to fight Wei, but feels slighted when Zhou Yu's made CiC over him, and helps direct the battle. Wants to save Gan Ning, leads his own unit against Cao Ren, and gets beat off and has to retreat. Advises pulling back when Zhou Yu gets injured, takes marines and land forces to He Fei, saves Sun Quan at He Fei, makes a point about SSX, gets made a governor of Jiang Xia, and that's it in the novel.
- SGZ: starts as a governor, a handsome man good with strategums and quick-witted, besieged cities and got covered in scars doing so. Earned the most merits under Sun Ce, put down bandits, saves Sun Ce, and quelled many rebellions. Conquerors Nan Jun, gets made an administrator taking over for Zhou Yu, then dies. GoS has him investigating loyalty, and makes more of his career and his issues with Zhou Yu. Rafe notes he got ill burning bodies, which is why he died.

Lead: I'd put him low to mid-80s. He had a long career, co-leader at Chi Bi, successful in the move against Cao Ren, and was noted for having the most accomplishments of any general under Sun Ce.

War: Quite a few kills, and he dueled Taishi Ci for 30 rounds without losing. I'm putting him at 90, as he never lost a duel and for this.

Int: Quick-witted, no real strategies that he came up with. He's fine where he is.

Pol: Governor in a few places, willing to be Zhou Yu's subordinate in practice cause the situation necessitated it, 60's fine.

Cha: Well liked, but the jealousy over Zhou Yu makes me want to keep him from 80, even though they became friends. I'm going high 70s.

Skills: Administration (political skill for his career governing), Aid (e) (many, many times helping people out), Arson (corpses), Charge (use against Huang Zu), Dash (pursuit of forces), Duelist (use of), Investigator (finding the unloyal), Leader (delegations), Navy (lead marines), Rally (trying to do so at Nan Jun), Riot (what he did to Huang Zu's troops), Siegecraft (noted in his early career), Valor (injuries)

Personality: Neutral, nothing one way or another.

Revised: Not necessary

Cheng Pu (154) 84-90-67-60-78 | Skills: Administration, Aid (e), Arson, Charge, Dash, Duelist, Investigator, Leader, Navy, Rally, Riot, Siegecraft, Valor | Items: Snake-Headed Spear [melee] (War +2) | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

=============================================================================

Huang Gai (145) 76-70-75-50-71 | Skills: Administration (150), Aid (270), Ambush (200), Arson (500), Duelist (160), Investigator (300), Leader (250), Navy (400), Scout (100), Siegecraft (250), Study (250), Valour (100), Zeal (300) | Items: Steel Flail [melee] (War +2) | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

- Wields an iron whip, helps a lot like Cheng Pu early on, beats Cai Mao quickly with a duel, handles the navy early on for Sun Jian, and captures Huang Zu. Captures Jiaxing, meets Zhou Xin in battle, knocks the Wu scholars for debating Zhuge and says he'll never surrender. Gets beaten while insulting Zhou Yu, and men plead for his life. Leads the arson ships, goes to attack Cao Cao but gets hit by an arrow and has to be saved by Han Dang. Leads some more ships, that's it in the novel.
- SGZ: Spent free-time learning to read and write, fights against Dong Zhuo with Sun Jian. Delegates administrative duties cause he doesn't specialize in them, but his officials slack off, so he investigates and kills them for their faults. Puts down the powerful and supports the weak among the Shanyu, is noted for his troops always wanting to go first in battle. Beats a larger force by letting them flood the city and attacking with his 500 men, and quells rebellions. GoS talks about the fire but not much else.

Lead: A lot of pacification work, but that's pretty much it. Lead's fine.

War: Couple of duels, tough guy, could use a boost, I'll put it a couple points higher.

Int: Came up with the fire plan, came up with the plan to trap the bandits, I'm going to drop it a couple points cause I just don't see those as 70s worthy.

Pol: No real commands or administrative abilities, but he did study, 50's fine.

Cha: I think this could use a boost to the 80s because he was in some ways intimidating. He was always able to quell bandits and was well liked and respected among all his officers, plus had people crying for him when Zhou Yu went Passion of the Christ on him (how's that for a dated reference?).

Skills: Aid (early help), Ambush (with the 500 men), Arson (e) (he's Huang Gai), Blitz (his men always wanting to go first), Charming (putting down bandits, popularity), Duelist (early fights), Inspire (giving him this over leader for his attempts to do so at Chi Bi with his men), Investigator (those who erred), Jeer (of Zhou Yu), Loyalty (men crying for him), Navy (e) (numerous notations of his naval career in Wu), Rumour (his idea for the battered body ploy), Trap (the guys in the city), Valor (taking beatings)

Personality: Loyal, but neutral.

Revised: Not necessary

Huang Gai (145) 76-73-72-50-82 | Skills: Aid, Ambush, Arson (e), Blitz, Charming, Duelist, Inspire, Investigator, Jeer, Loyalty, Navy (e), Rumour, Trap, Valor | Items: Steel Flail [melee] (War +2) | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

Re: V5 Heroes (NPC statting)

Lu Su (172) 65-60-74-80-97 | Skills: Charming (600), Horse Archer (200), Investigator (250), Leader (300), Logistics (200), Navy (100), Networking (280), Rumour (250), Siegecraft (100), Study (300), Trap (100) | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

- Said to be intelligent, filial, giving out food to those in need, and fond of fencing and horse archery. Recommends pacifying the south lands, and recommends Zhuge Jin to Sun Quan. Goes to Liu Bei onces Liu Biao dies, talks with Zhuge and gets him to come to Sun Quan. Convinces Sun Quan not to surrender, calms Sun Quan down after Zhuge is Zhuge with him, gets lost between Zhuge and Zhou Yu conversing. Advises Zhou Yu not to kill Zhuge, marches out with Cheng Pu, Zhuge notes Lu Su as skilled at ambushes and holding passes, he gives Zhuge some boats, gets played some more, and recommends Pang Tong. Helps build the Alter for Zhuge, is played some more, consistently gets talked into letting Liu Bei maintain his lands. Tries to get Guan Yu to yield, fails, and dies.
- Comprehensive Bio mentions the army he lead during the first assault on Jing. GoS mentions Lu Su as a spy on Liu Bei, suggesting the borrowing, being named Grand Administrator of Hancheng, and discusses how Lu Su actually came up with both the Two and Three Kingdoms plans, and put over how his advice was right for the time against Liu Bei. Mentions him taking part in capturing Huan in 214. Also mentions him intercepting Guan Yu's relief force and both Lu Su and Guan Yu accusing each other of false deals.
- Note: Lu Su might be the hardest guy on the list to really stat.

Lead: Successful commander in taking Lujiang, was able to at least bring Guan Yu to a standstill (although whether that is because Guan Yu didn't want to fight or not is a different issue), never really leads any major forces though, I think 65 is fine.

War: Fighting man, could be dropped, but leaving it where it is.

Int: This is the tough one. Its between this or pol, one at 90 and one at 80 in my opinion. I'm going Int at 90, and here's why:

1: The initial concept of the Three/Two Kingdoms plans, and his encouraging of Sun Quan to move fast to consolidate the south.

2: The advice to let Liu Bei maintain the western holdings in Wu.

3: From what I read, he took part, or at least in the planning, of the first Jing invasion that got southern Jing back under control of Sun Quan.

Definitively did the first two, not sure on the third, but in any case a ton of long-term strategic planning by Lu Su which was vital to the formation of Wu. Battlefield tactics, not sure, but for long-term plans I think its enough for him to be a 90 guy.

Pol: Not really a major politician, but again, with the above, done to set up the political state of Wu. I wasn't sure whether to put this under Int or Pol for its ramifications, but I felt Int would be better for him. Really I'd be comfortable with 90/80 or 80/90 for Int/Pol.

Cha: Trusted envoy loved by practically everyone, 97 works.

Skills: Administration (governor), Aid (of Zhou Yu), Ambush (Zhuge notes it), Charming (e) (he's Lu Su), Civil Engineer (building of the pavillion), Dash (moving to cut off Guan Yu), Fusillade (noted horse archer), Investigator (advising of pacification, going in between and figuring out what Zhuge and Zhou Yu were doing), Navy (lead ships), Networking (recommendations), Rally (of Sun Quan), Rumour (spread news for both Zhou Yu and Zhuge), Spy (initial role going to Liu Biao), Study (did so), Tactician (advice)

Personality: Good, noted for being so and did everything he could to maintain goodness and avoid evil actions in the novel.

Revised: Not necessary

Lu Su (172) 65-60-90-81-97 | Skills: Administration, Aid, Ambush, Charming (e), Civil Engineer, Dash, Fusillade, Investigator, Navy, Networking, Rally, Rumour, Spy, Study, Tactician | Items: | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

Dian Wei (160) 66-97-50-32-61 | Skills: Aid (130), Duelist (150), Stealth (250), Valour (800), Weaponmaster (1000) | Items: Meteor Hammer + 2(Melee) | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

- Recommended by Xiahou Dun, leads some men for Cao Cao, flings battle axes like they're arrows, is noted for Dashing in the novel, duels Xu Chu and leads him into a trap at Cao Cao's recommendation. Save Cao Cao from Lu Bu, saves him from Zhang Xiu's ambush, dies. SGZ has him killing Li Yong by sneaking into his area, defending against enemy troops who can't get an advantage on him (which reading Rafe's interpretation, leads me to think it was a mis-translation and this is the banner raising incident). Rafe has him leading troops on the front line as effective shock troops,

Lead: Shock troops, plus the possible incident with the bio, he's fine.

War: He's Dian Wei, it's good.

Int: I'm going to leave it where it is because he did come up with a plan to kill Li Yu, which showed a minimal amount of intelligence, so 50 works.

Pol: Does nothing, his actions weren't that great, 32 is ok.

Cha: I'm going high 60s for his intimidation factor.

Skills: Aid (helping Cao Cao), Blitz (his troops), Dash (novel), Duelist (with Xu Chu, in-general hand to hand combat), Missile (killing people with battle axes), Rally (saving Cao Cao), Stealth (sneaking in), Trap (leading Xu Chu to a trap), Valour (e) (he's Dian Wei), Weaponmaster (e) (he's Dian Wei)

Personality: Novel, neutral. History, evil for his killings, but loyal. Neutral gets it I guess.

Revised: Not necessary

Dian Wei (160) 66-97-50-32-68 | Skills: Aid, Blitz, Dash, Duelist, Missile, Rally, Stealth, Trap, Valour (e), Weaponmaster (e) | Items: Meteor Hammer + 2(Melee) | Ranks: Free Officer | Location: Not Found

- Advises sending a memorial, advises Dong not to do anything cause Lu Bu's behind Ding Yuan. Advises Dong to not kill, to depose the Emperor, to recruit good people to calm others, forces the former Empress to drink a cup of poisoned wine after throwing her out of a window. Urges Hua Xiong to make a quick attack, and set fire himself to Sun Jian's army to push him back. Advises retreating to Chang'An, and pillaging the people, and advises and leads an ambush on Cao Cao's pursuing forces. Doesn't fall when Dong runs into him, tries to get Dong and Lu Bu not to fight, fails, dies.
- Wiki mentions him being an advisor against the Qiangs. Rafe mentions him possibly being a scholar who held local office. Stats:

Lead: Not noted for being a leader, but did lead troops against Sun Jian and Cao Cao, even in a supportive fashion. He's fine here.

War: He took a running hit from Dong Zhuo, and showed himself either to be a very large man, or very dexterous to not fall. In any case, war boost for this plus the throwing an empress out the window.

Int: Smart man, never really super smart, 87 is fine.

Pol: Outside the clerk appointment possibly, no notation of him being politically astute, political dealings aside. I'd go low 70s here.

Cha: Dong took his advice frequently, and he seemed respected by others as well under Dong. I'll go mid 70s.

Skills: Acumen (clerk), Aid (helping Dong many times), Alchemist (poison), Ambush (of Cao Cao), Arrowstorm (throwing the empress out the window.... ok, its a joke skill, still putting it in there :p), Arson (of Sun Jian), Charming (much of his advice), Cunning (constant plans), Dash (quick attack), Jeer (the empress), Networking (novel proposing of getting new men in), Propaganda (memorials), Reversal (seeing through Cao Cao's plan), Rumour (various slanderings of others), Tactician (was one)

Personality: Killed the Empress, evil.

Revised: Not necessary

Dong: I'll probably do the Flood lists this week, finish up the Heroes next week or in the next few weeks.

sorry if i sound like a broken record but Dian Wei does nothing but get a pol of 32. Guan Yu governs Jing or at least half of it and also get about 30+ of pol. How do the 2 numbers gel? I just do not get it.
